Career counselling and placement is an integral part of the education process.
While acquired skills and knowledge are essential in today's highly competitive job market,
they may not be all that is required. Whether you are training for an entirely new career or
interested in advancing within your current organization, we are here to assist you in reaching
your goals. Students sometimes need help in compiling a resume, identifying and making contact
with potential employers, and preparing for job interviews.
Our complimentary placement service assists each student in attaining positions in their fields
of specialization. We offer individual career counseling sessions as well as group workshops.
The Placement Service focuses on each student's unique strengths as students are helped to achieve
their career objectives. We utilize our extensive industry experience and employer contacts to assist
in placing you, the graduate, in your chosen industry.
There is, of course, no guarantee of how any individual student will fare in the employment process.
Individual motivation, determination, grades in school, and other factors all play a role in the employment
process.
The Career Service Department can assist graduates with:
- Providing information on current career market trends
- Guiding graduates in the employment search process
- Cover letter and resume preparation
- Presentation and interview techniques
- Marketing graduates individualized skills to employers
- Co-op and internship placement assistance
- Providing 26 weeks of placement assistance upon graduation
