Yorkville College History
The College was founded in 1986 by former IBM technical staff members in Toronto,
Yorkville College was initially devoted to training both entry and advanced level
personnel for the rapidly growing technical fields that dominated the North American
economy during the last decades of the Twentieth Century.
Over the years, that early technical curriculum based on programming, networking and web design
began to be supplemented with subjects such as Dental Hygiene, Dental Chairside, Accounting,
Paralegal Studies, Project Management, Counselling, and other disciplines which have the
potential to lead to good paying stable jobs in an ever evolving Canadian and world economy.
Though the nature of the subjects we teach have been evolving, to this mission Yorkville College remains
true: To provide students a sound educational experience and practical background in preparation
for employment in their chosen field of study; to do so with highly qualified and real-world
experienced faculty; and to provide our students with assistance in finding employment upon
graduation. Just as change is the only reliable constant in the world, we expect the College
will further evolve in time and include new programs and improved curricula in existing programs.
What will not change is our focus on you the student, our entire reason for being here at all!
Your success is our success !
